No. RISION Torix measures infrared radiation emitted from surfaces and cannot see through water, glass, walls, or other solid materials. However, concealed pipes, water leaks, or heat sources may create detectable temperature differences on nearby surfaces, helping users identify areas that may require further inspection.
RISION Torix is designed to provide reliable temperature measurements for inspection and troubleshooting, with an accuracy of ±2°C or ±2% of the reading, whichever is greater. Actual accuracy may vary depending on factors including target material, emissivity, measurement distance, ambient temperature, humidity, reflections, and measurement parameter settings. You can adjust the relevant parameters in the app based on your measurement conditions for more accurate results.
Infrared temperature measurements may be affected by the following factors:
•Emissivity of the target surface
•Ambient temperature
•Atmospheric transmission
•Measurement distance
For more reliable results, configure the measurement parameters based on the target material and operating environment.
The recommended effective measurement distance is within 5 meters (16.4 ft). Measurement accuracy may decrease when the camera is used beyond this distance.
RISION Torix has a physical shutter that performs automatic calibration. During calibration, the device may make a clicking sound and the live image may pause for approximately 0.5 seconds. This is normal and helps maintain temperature measurement accuracy. When the device is connected for the first time, the shutter may operate several times in succession, after which the calibration frequency will gradually decrease.
Native resolution is determined by the infrared detector and defines the level of detail captured in the thermal image. QuadIR™ super resolution uses image-processing algorithms to further enhance image detail. The level of identifiable detail also depends on the target size and measurement distance.
RISION Torix is equipped with a 2,750 mAh lithium-ion battery and provides up to 10 hours of operating time under appropriate conditions.
Charge the device using a USB 2.0 Type-C cable. Please note that fast charging is not supported.
You can transfer captured images and videos using either of the following methods:
•Via USB: Connect RISION Torix to a computer using a USB 2.0 Type-C data cable, then access the device storage and copy the images and videos to your computer.
•Via microSD card: Remove the microSD card from RISION Torix and insert it directly into your computer or an SD card reader. Open the corresponding folder and copy the images and videos to your computer.
No. RISION Torix uses a removable microSD card for storage and comes with a 512 MB microSD card as standard.
*Power off before replacing the microSD card.
RISION Torix supports microSD cards up to 128 GB in capacity. A 512 MB microSD card is included as standard.
