Personal Data We Collect

The types of personal data we obtain about you depend on how you interact with our Site and use our Services. When we use the term “personal data,” we mean data that identifies you, relates to you, describes you, or can reasonably be linked to you. The following sections describe the specific categories and types of personal data we collect.

Data We Collect Directly from You

The data you directly provide to us through our Services may include:

  • Account information, including your username, password and email address.
  • Customer support information, including the information you choose to provide when communicating with us, such as the information you provide when sending us messages through the service.

Some features of the service may require you to directly provide certain personal data to us. You can choose not to provide this information, but doing so may prevent you from using or accessing these features.

Data collected through devices:

To better provide you with our features and services, we will request the following permissions within the necessary scope, and these will only be enabled after you actively confirm them.

  • Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and location information.
  • Storage, microphone, camera, and USB permissions.

After the relevant permissions are enabled, you agree that we may use the following data:

  • List of nearby Bluetooth devices.
  • Location information.

Depending on the specific features, Our Company will request access to your following permissions. Such permissions will only be enabled after you actively confirm them and will be used for the following purposes:

Wired Device Connection

When using RISION View to connect to the handheld thermal imaging camera, you need to plug the device into your phone's Type-C port to transmit and display infrared images. To enable device recognition and data transmission, we will request USB access permissions when you plug in the device, and the permission request will automatically stop when the device is unplugged. This feature does not involve any personal data.

Wireless Device Connection and Image Transmission

We need to request Bluetooth or Wi-Fi permissions to complete device pairing and image transmission for products wirelessly connected to RISION View. After turning on Bluetooth, we will read the list of nearby Bluetooth devices, and you will manually select the Bluetooth device to complete the connection. During this process, we will not collect your personal device information.

Photo and Video Recording

When using RISION infrared products to capture and record infrared images of objects, we will request storage, photo library, and microphone permissions in order to save images/videos locally and synchronously record ambient sound. The generated content is stored locally on your device only. All related images, videos, and audio content are under your own control; we will not upload, access, or analyze such content. This feature is intended to support the infrared detection and recording of objects and is not used to identify specific individuals or process personal information.

Picture-in-Picture (PiP) Feature

Enabling the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature allows the simultaneous display of the object's infrared image and the visible light image captured by the phone's camera, facilitating scene comparison and target localization. To implement this feature, we will request camera permission. The relevant image data is only processed and displayed in real-time locally on your device; we will not store, upload, or use it for any purpose of identifying individuals. This feature is primarily used to assist in scene comparison and target localization and is not intended for the collection or processing of personal information.

Children’s Personal Data

The Services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has provided us with personal data, you may contact us using the information below to request deletion.

We do not “sell” or “share” the personal data of individuals under the age of 16 as defined under applicable law.

How long do we keep your information?

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law. We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security, and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Website is at your own risk. You should only access the Website within a secure environment.

We may also reject some aspects of your requests if we believe that they may prevent us from using the data lawfully for the aforementioned anti-fraud and security purposes.

There may be situations where we cannot grant your request — for example, if you ask us to delete your transaction data and RISION is legally obligated to keep a record of that transaction to comply with law. We may also decline to grant a request where doing so would undermine our legitimate use of data for anti-fraud and security purposes, such as when you request deletion of an account that is being investigated for security concerns.
